As a result, this process has become a key focus area for production line optimization. In this case, the Worldia FMP-LN face milling cutter was applied to machine cast iron cylinder heads, helping the customer achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

Solution Features

*The FMP-LN face milling cutter is a cutting tool independently developed by Worldia with proprietary intellectual property right. Compared with the original imported solution that used horizontally mounted inserts with only one cutting edge, the Worldia FMP-LN face milling cutter makes full use of eight cutting edges through both vertical and horizontal insert mounting. It supports a maximum cutting depth of 11 mm and is applicable to a wide range of materials—from cast iron and aluminum alloys to hardened steels—covering operations from roughing to finishing. As a result, Worldia’s cutters offer not only broader applicability but also superior insert economy.

*In this case, Worldia’s solution adopted a Φ200 face milling cutter, with both the cutter and inserts being standard products available from stock. Compared with the non-standard tools used in the original solution, Worldia’s products provide better flexibility and significantly shorter delivery times.

*The FMP-LN face milling cutter inserts are available in multiple PCD and PCBN grades, along with a variety of tip geometries and edge designs. This rich portfolio of designs and combinations brings customers more choices, longer tool life, higher machining efficiency, broader application versatility, and lower tooling costs.

*According to customer feedback, compared with the original imported tools, the Worldia solution reduced tool costs by 60%, which not only truly realized the localization of tools, but also achieved significant cost reduction and efficiency improvement results.
